Hey guys! 👋🏻 Welcome back to my blog again! 🥰 Two weeks ago, I had a great pleasure to join the guest lecture by Marcus Suen, a content creator of social media in Hong Kong. He had worked for different local media such as Commercial Radio Hong Kong, 100 most, U Lifestyle, Cap TV, OpenRice etc., and now he is working in a local business magazine Edigest.

You may be curious about what a content creator is.🤔 Content creator is not only a journalist, it is a combination of many position such as a PR, a marketer, a writer, a designer, a video editor, a social media platform admin, an influencer etc.. It seems like a role with many responsibilities 😵, indeed it is not easy being a content creator. But you know what? ALL OF US CAN BE A CONTENT CREATOR! 🤩🤩 If you are confused about how do generate interesting contents, here are some advice by Marcus.
📍1 Understand Your Target Audience
It is important to know who is going to read your content. 👥 Always ask yourself what your content is writing for. Considering the demographic and psychographic information of you target audience, it helps you to tailor-made a content exclusively for them. Read more to know how can you find your target audience.
📍2 Choose A Right Platform

“Content is King & Platform is Queen”. Choosing a suitable social media platform is a crucial key 🔑 to determine whether your content can be successfully spread to the public. You can first take a look to see how social media platforms differ from each others before making your decision. Try to connect your target audience with the social media platform they tend to use so that you can reach out to the public with greater exposure.
📍3 Be Sensitive & Creative

Marcus mentioned that internet content can be divided into two types: internet organic content & reality generated content. Be sensitive to things happened around us in our everyday life as EVERYTHING can be the content resources; and generate those resources to creative contents that could evoke resonance. 💭 As mentioned by Marcus, the creativity of a content, (or the “golden 10 seconds” at the beginning of the video) determine whether the content can catch the public’s attention. ‼️‼️
📍4 CLS Is Not Everything!

Engagement is important for a content creator, CLS (a.k.a. comment, like & share) can be a basic indicator to evaluate the effectiveness of your created content. You would be excited and motivated by thousands of likes and comments below your posts at the beginning, and keep blindly creating contents to gain as many CLS as you can, but ignore if the content is suitable or good enough. Always brainstorm and generate new content to keep your CLS!!
I hope the above information can help you to become a great CONTENT CREATOR! And remember as Marcus said:
“To read, read and read. To live, live and live.“
See you guys soon~!! ♥️♥️♥️
